I mean, how can you be sure your opponent really only used 5 uncommons in their deck unless the format filters control that?

However I think the reason behind it is in large part due to the great folks @ PDCmagic. They if not came up with the format, they certainly did everything they could to push it as a competitive format by having their own tournaments on an almost daily basis (most out of pocket if prizes were available) during the days of MTGO v2.

I guess what I’m saying is that could well be the wider and or more fun format but it was pauper that had its own community online and thus easier to get established.

Considering that 5 uncommons give you so much more building possibilities both for the main deck and/or sideboard. It would probably be easier to fight some narrow strategies as you have suddenly access to thousands of additional sideboard cards that don’t break the bank. Any thoughts on that?
