UWg Oath is pretty much a UW control shell with some tutors to get Oath/Polymorph/Proteus Staff, then splashing G just for Oath. Oath can come down T2 and be active, so often the time and mana available to fight with before you're facing Emrakul/Progenitus is very limited. Later in the game you have to fight through countermagic that can protect their win conditions. PWers and combos like Thopter/Sword can give the deck a way to win without a fatty as well.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the note. It actually does take a bit of time to post decklists because you have to list each card individually. :) But that's no excuse in itself. The real reason is that we'd like to post more detailed articles about Singleton, the possible metagame, etc., a bit later, and we're not necessarily sold on our own builds yet.

As for the Oath combo list, I've certainly played against versions of that in the past. One of the problems with it is that you don't get to run cool creatures, and there are lots of efficient creatures with interesting abilities to play. In addition, I used to run a RUG list with Survival (before it was banned) that had a number of sideboard options against the list just by accident (Sower of Temptation, O-ring, even [card]Ixidron[/card] :P). This isn't to say that the deck is horrible, though; it's just to say that its plan may, in fact, be too linear for a tier 1 100CS list. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

With all that being said, we would like to put together some combo lists at some point that reflect what the metagame will likely contain, including an Oath list, a Scapeshift list, a Cephalid Breakfast/Hermit Druid list, and maybe an artifact-combo list (with Painter-Stone and Thopter-Sword, etc.). Combo occupies an serious niche in the metgame, which is surprising given the deckbuilding restrictions of 100CS, and I hope it puts up results when the format is resurrected (hopefully soon). We'll also be looking to unban some cards that we don't actually think are even as good as many of the cards that are legal in the format (Imperial Seal for instance... is this card really better than Mystical Tutor?).

Sweet- more 100cs vids! One addition that'd be nice is a decklist for the decks you're running, I assume it isn't much work to create.

It's cool to see some different decks, although I wasn't very impressed with that Gr list with Weatherseed Treefolk, seems like Naya or Elves would be a much better direction to go. Don't really understand running Natural Order if the only real target is Primeval either. I am not a fan of Gaea's Revenge, 7 mana is just way too much for a card that doesn't win you the game necessarily. It is too chumpable and dies to Wraths anyways, I'd rather have a cheaper control hoser.

IMO the scariest deck in 100cs is UWg control splashing for Oath of Druids. Oath is the most powerful card when built around, 2 mana for Emrakul/Progenitus, yikes.
