You might also try the human version of this deck, running champion of the parish etc. Also, I think your draws tended to be pretty horrendous in this daily compared to what I have seen elsewhere.

Despite my dislike of the deck and the amount of flack its receiving, Todd and others have been doing rather well with the deck. Todd wrote about it again today and included some improvements to the list. I'm willing to give the deck another chance, off camera of course.

In my opinion, you didn't make the right choice when deckbuilding. Either you go for Illusions (with the Lord to support Illusion creatures) or you go for a cheap creature rush deck with the added control aspect of Snapcaster and countermagic. The latter deck seems more like what you're looking for in this deck, and I'd suggest you check out the so-called CounterBurn Blue/Red lists. They also consist of a tiny mana curve which is mostly 1s and 2s, but they actually run enough instants to support Delver and Snapcaster, and overall are more consistent.

I think the 2 Probe, all-action hand game one was a keep, actually. You can miss your second land drop without too big of a problem, and this deck really hates seeing more than 4 lands.

I've been playing with this, and it's just super easy to get flooded - Ponder never fixes that, either. This can do some degenerate stuff, but I'm not sure if it's better than the versions with red for Brimstone Volleys and Incinerates.
