Draft videos have different purposes folks – there a place for a well-reasoned thought out draft like Simon and Marshall, and then there is the goofy let’s have some fun drafts from Windmill Slam and LRR – to each his own!

But here’s a thought – did the fact that Theros ended up lending itself so well suited to the “don’t think just grab a card in 3 seconds” speak more of how narrow Theros drafts end up being or to the fact that the Windmill Slam guys know the format so well.

I think it’s more the former. Theros lends itself very well to the “pick 2 colors and ride them all the way through” style of draft strategy. Once you do that, very little thought is required to draft an average performing Theros deck. Let’s hope Khans in October requires a bit more thought and strategy!

I already love Windmill Slam videos. When I read “shouting into the microphone like a moron,” I knew I couldn’t miss this one. It’s bad restaurant review that lists all the reasons I go to a place.

Well, if you really want to see intelligent, well-thought-out-and-explained drafts, proper educational videos… you can get that. You already know where you can get that. I for one am glad that not every video series is like that, and there’s some amount of variety available.

I stopped watching the video after one minute, this is ridiculous. Please watch one of Simon’s recorded drafts as an inspiration. Where he calmly explains his picks, you are shouting into the microphone like a moron…
