Common Practice: Pauper Stompy Matchups

Before watching the videos below, check out my previous article on Mono-Green Stompy in Pauper.

  1. the mono blue link and the affinity link both seem to currently link to the video of you against mono blue

  2. Did you have a fan on? There’s a horrible rumbling in the mic. Otherwise, solid videos. Thanks!

  3. I love me some stompy, but when would you rather be playing stompy instead of poison? It looks like it is probably stronger vs. goblins – but they aren’t a big part of the current meta. Maybe you address this during the games, but if not I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts.

  4. you know you’re dead against monoblue as soon as he blocks(even if you did draw a land you’d still be dead), so not scooping for a solid two minutes was extremely rude.

  5. Great vids, I stuck through all of them despite the sound issues. I really sounds like you had a fan blowing on your mic, so in the future you might want to give it a quite listen before you upload. :)

  6. First of all, it’s really nice to see some Pauper Videos ! I used to love playing this deck, but got frustrated with how under powered it feels against Infect. Stompy can’t race Infect, and Infect’s -1/-1 counters make blocking difficult as well. The big weakness it has in the “mirror match” vs Infect led me to stop playing Stompy.

I hope to see more Pauper videos from you here.

  7. @Gunho: Infect is a combo deck and we all know that, in general, combo beats aggro so it’s far from being a mirror match, despite being so similar. :)
Also, great videos! They are just what I needed at just the right time.

  8. I barely ever lose to infect as stompy. Remember to save a blocker and SAVE VINES OF THE VASTWOOD

you can vines their guy unkicked in response to a pump and it will stop it from working
