Hot or Not?: Dark Ascension Prediction Contest

Now that Pro Tour: Dark Ascension has come and gone, everyone knows what the pros think about the most recent expansion in the Innistrad Block. Here at MTGO Academy, we’re all wondering what you think about the newest cards to Magic‘s large catalog! This edition of Hot or Not will be open for submissions from now until Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 12:01am EST. Each prize will be 50 bot credits (for Academy_Sellbot, Academy_Sellbot2, Academy_Sellbot3, and Academy_Foilbot: check us out in game!), and the winners will be announced after February 26, 2012 (after all, we need time to see what is hot… and what is not)!

In the event of a tie, the prize will be split evenly, rounded up, among the pool of winners. Only one entry per Challenge per member. Members must be logged in under their registered MTGO Academy usernames. And you must include your Magic Online username with your entry if you wish to receive your winnings. Please do NOT create multiple accounts; cheaters will not be eligible for prizes! Contributors may participate. Please note that there are two different ways to participate (and you are free to do both)!

Challenge #1: Mythical Mayhem

In this past Pro Tour, Huntmaster of the Fells stood out as the break-out mythic from Dark Ascension, but the price tag of Sorin, Lord of Innistrad still puts the werewolf to shame. With both of these cards coming to Magic Online this week, how many Event Tickets will each command by the end of Saturday, February 25, 2012 (the first weekend of Dark Ascension Release Events)? Please format your guess as per the following example:

Challenge 1: Huntermaster 3 tickets, Sorin 8 tickets

The winner of this challenge will be the contestant who has the lowest summed difference between each guess and the actual price of each card. May the most economically prophetic win!

Challenge #2: It’s a Numbers Game

When most players think of a new set, their minds immediately wander to its impact on Standard Constructed where Dark Ascension joins five other expert-level Magic sets to form a massive cardpool to make its presence known in the metagame. But this contest looks at the Constructed format where the release has the most profound impact: Innistrad Block Constructed! What will be the top 5 most commonly played Dark Ascension rares (NOT mythics) in ISD Block Constructed from the Prerelease Events that start on Thursday until the last event that fires on Saturday, February 25, 2012? Order does not matter. Please format your entry as follows:
