Kool Runnings Cube Draft #6

  1. This deck was an… interesting one. I can hear the pain in my brain as I try to figure out the mana base. I really hope that the post-WMC cube update is a huge one; I am not even sure that I agree that 720 cards makes the draft environment more repeatable.

  2. The face down card in his graveyard was the card exiled with memory jar, it goes away when memory jar ditched his current hand.

  3. @BorT

If he attacks with Batterskull, the opponent blocks with Puppeteer Clique. Clique ETBs from Persist, opponent puts Chameleon Colossus in to play, which does not get exiled until the end of opponent’s next turn.

Since Chameleon Colossus is Pro-Black, neither the Batterskull nor Sorin token can block it. Opponent uses Lotus / Coalition Relic to generate GGGG, pumps it to 16/16 and smashes face for win.

  4. I literally closed the window 20 seconds into this draft. You first picked Devil’s Play? Are you kidding me? Are you trolling your viewers? I really don’t understand, because there is no universe where that is a justifiable first pick over Scrubland, Jace, Hymn, or Jar if you want to draft storm. What are you even doing making these videos?

  5. Thanks Mr_Chupon. :)

Random Scrub- I really liked Devil’s Play the first time I played it in cube. It’s the sort of bad card advantage (that affects the board) that I love to play. Maybe I should’ve picked Jace for the “best” card, but I generally enjoy RG ramp.

Aside (but not really): Why do so many commenters on Cube videos throw a fit when certain cards are passed? This format is primarily to enjoy one’s self; draft what you want!

  6. Sure man draft what you want. I agree, thats the cool thing about Cube. You can draft whatever you want and it will work out somehow.

Still Basalt Monolith is like one of the best cards in the cube I think. And Daybreak one of the worst :D. So I was a little confused there. Didnt mean to troll. Really love your vids. Keep it up. :)

I also think Devils Play was totally justifiable there. It does something at every point in the game. Especially in Ramp. Who cares about Jace B.

  7. I’m confused. If you throw seige gang commander at his face and let the huntmaster flip it kills him. Not to mention I think you had the mana to sack one when he killed all your 0′s with engineered explosives (not 100% sure on that one).

  8. One thing that bugged me. Eternal Dragon has plainscycling so you can play it in place of a land and it fixes you for black and white (since you have two scrublands). It then sits in your graveyard and maybe comes back. You didn’t even give it consideration as a fixer when making the deck.

  9. Just wanted to point out that the “Oraymw” posting above is not the verified oraymw (me) on this site. Just so you know it’s not me making the stupid comment at the top.
