  1. Small point, but at the end of M2G1 if you Hybradized either of your sharks or the LL Phantom, you would have gotten a *green* Frog Lizard that the Denizen would have used to but the last +1/+1 counter on your Krasis for lethal by itself.

  2. You made a huge mistake in r3g3 when you sarcastically referred to the once best card in magic as a sweet card. Of course after that you’re going to brick every draw!

  3. Another great draft, it’s fun to see Simic get some attention. Iv’e been trying to figure out lately just how effective forcing a guild can be in this format, and youv’e just demonstrated that the strategy is worth a serious consideration.

    Small nitpick: M2G2, you made the attack where you used both pit fight and the bloodrushed scab clan churger to push through with your creatures. You could have targeted the Drakewing Krasis with the bloodrush (making it a 5/5 flying trample), and then used pit fight targeting you krasis and the spy. This way you still kill the spy and the spirit token, you still keep your gargoyle, but your Krasis tramples over for 2 extra points of damage. That could of course be significant.

  4. New LR logo: good!

    Existing MTGO Academy opening owl thing: No, Deviantart, stop it.

  5. Thanks again for the amazing videos, lots of fun to watch.

    I do have one point regarding M3G1 – you mention that you liked the play with the Deathcult rogue for maximum damage potential, but if you played the Drakewing first in that situation, you’d have pushed the Elusive 5/9 (the 3/1 evolves the 2/6 to a 3/7, then the denizen adds another token making it a 4/8, then the shambleshark triggers the denizen for the next token, providing a 5/9 unblockable) this is a 2 turn clock. So missing that trigger sets you back a whole turn. – Granted, it didnt matter, but it did give him an extra turn.

  6. Your finals opponent got really lucky milling your elusive krasis the last two games. But mill is a viable win condition for a control deck in this format.

  7. Don’t underestimate Voidwalk in Simic. If you’ve got any creature that can trigger evolve or anything that can trigger an Ivy Lane Denizen it can actually get pretty out of control.

  8. Liked the old logo better, if you don’t mind me saying. The owl intro is great!

    In m3g3, I’m not a fan of trading experiment one with his 3/2 extort guy. Don’t know how much it mattered what with all the fliers he put out against you.

    Thanks, as always, for the quality content.

  9. How do you make the cards pop when you mouse over them?
    All I can do is make them pop-up the tool tip, that I hate…

  10. @Mauro: You can pop the cards up by clicking the middle mouse wheel. The Orcs are a great resource and will point you to all sorts of cools stuff. Asking them will get accurate responses.

  11. They also pop when you hit both mouse buttons simultaneously.
    Lots of mistakes in the final, guess you were tired. But missing out that the mind eye drake would mill you to death was painful.

  12. have a recent read-through of slaughter house five or do you just always talk like billy pilgrim? :P

    ty for the videos as always

  13. @MrFishy Yeah, I think I thought about that after the fact :/ No excuses on MTGO as you actually get the right tokens every time! :P

    @Turei Ha, well now that we have discovered my mistake, I won’t make it again :P

    @carrot I’ll go back and check, but I’ll also take your word for it, thanks :)

    @lantis Well I designed the old logo so I’ll happily accept your opinion here :P I like the new one a lot too, though.

    @Frank Thanks! Friend of the show Justin Treadway designed it for us. I’m really happy with it.

    @proginoskes Good point, the Denizen certainly throws a wrench in the normal evolve mix.

    @brenden Yeah he did, but he could have easily just milled me right to my Krasis. Mill is somewhat viable, but you need a really strong shell around it to make it work.

    @asmodan I definitely underestimate Voidwalk, and I will continue to. I think that while there are some cases where it can be ok, it generally isn’t worth a card. It also doesn’t evolve any of our guys on it’s own.

    @Dan Murphy Yeah I am not sure about that either. I usually will trade my guys 1:1 with their extort guys, though not always. I don’t mind you saying at all, as I designed it :)

    @mauro Looks like your questions have been answered :) (I do both right and left mouse buttons myself)

    @systemic good advice :)

    @knx also good advice

    @eli The Sirens of Titan is my favorite book, though I do just talk that way normally :P

  14. why no love for sapphire drake? do you think he’s just too expensive? he’s nuts in simic and you definitely had enough evolve guys to support him. picking killing glare over him p1p2 is acceptable (even though you said you were forcing simic) but i don’t understand why you took the charger over him in p3.

    anyways, i love your drafts and LR, keep up the good work.

  15. Hey Marshall, have you ever considered recording a LR cube draft? I would love to see that!

  16. @zilla I don’t mind one Drake in my Simic deck, but I have found that it’s not necessary. If I can avoid playing any 6-drops, I’ll do it. That said, if I do play one, drake is a solid choice.
    @handybobcat I have considered that, and I likely will do it at some point. It’s sort of difficult to do as we have to do the draft portion on another site, it’s not particularly pretty. Still worth it though, thanks for the reminder :)
