  1. In R2G1, could you not have reanimated the Imp to discard and insta-reanimate the Ulamog in his turn for the block? Don’t think it would have mattered against that repeal, but without that it could have been good

  2. As you said, very lucky to pick up all the fixing at the end after ignoring it completely :)

I don’t think you should include opposition in a deck like this. 80% of your creatures are huge fatties, and something like Living Death would have been much better. It can basically work as a Wrath AND a reanimation spell more often than not. Turtenwald second picked it in his most recent set of videos and showcased how to abused it.

  3. When you have Cryptologist and Liliana in play and an Animate Dead in hand, you can just put Griselbrand on top, draw it and discard it right away and reanimate. Seems pretty good.

  4. I’m always criticizing, but I do love the videos. I only wish that you’d stream so I could scream at you live.

  5. I don’t get Show and Tell at all. Marshall literally lost a game because of a spell he put in his deck that allowed his opponent to play an answer to his threat for free. Maybe the odds are in his favour, but i just don’t like how random it is.

Round one was fun though. Despite a salty opponent. Playing out his seconds of game 3. Instead of conceding.
    ?
    .
    :P

  6. I think it was fitting for the impatient guy in round 1 to lose to the clock running out. Love the videos. Don’t let these guys bash your decisions. Cube is about having fun and if you prefer one card over another that’s your business.

  7. Animate dead was a much better pick. You didn’t even mention it. Which shows that you really don’t appreciate it.

  8. Why was Ulamog in the deck? Not only is it completely useless as a target for sorcery speed reanimate spells, but it’s graveyard shuffle effect is counterproductive to a reanimation strategy.

  9. kajillion, I think there is reason enough to include Ulamog. It is bonkers with Sneak and Show, and the deck had a decent amount of tutoring and card selection. It is definitely a debatable pick, but it made some sense to include it in the deck. However, I don’t love picking it up before Sneak and Show but after you know you are going in a reanimator strategy (which can’t do much with it) rather than ramp, which is the only reliable route to go with Ulamog other than Sneak and Show.

  10. I heavily agree with Opposition having NO place in this deck. Marshall says in the video that it’s decent even with only 10 creatures, but he doesn’t take into account that FIVE of those creatures are 6+ drops.

Imagine in R1G1 if he’d had Living Death in the deck when he did his first search with Liliana? He’d have gotten back a Woodfall Primus, Inferno Titan, Consecrated Sphinx and Griselbrand all in one turn. There was absolutely NO reason it shouldn’t have made his main deck.

  11. R1G1 definitely should have returned Woodfall Primus to kill Recurring Nightmare at the first opportunity. Recurring Nightmare is sorcery speed only, and super dangerous.

  12. Great Draft!!
I’m so glad you took ponder over creeping tar pit.
The ole’ tar pit is so low impact in cube and in a 2 color deck, which at that point you were, Fixing isn’t mandatory.
I like your explanation of concentrated sphinx as well, that card is absurd. It’s like honorary titan up with wurmcoil engine,

  13. In G1 at 25:10, unless I am missing something I think you could have tapped Woodfall Primus with Opposition to tap his second black source before he replayed Recurring Nightmare. Then he wouldn’t have been able to bring back Dungeon Geists to lock down your Griselbrand, and if he attacked you could have eaten something and gained 7 from the lifelink. Oh well!
