  1. I just saw the draft, haven’t seen the videos, but it looks great so far.

I know you made it a pet thing to play Triton Shorethief . . . but I don’t know how you could play that card and leave Benthic Giant in your sideboard.

  2. Next draft try to pick up either the devotion or monstrosity decks! That would be awesome, especially since monstrosity is my favorite mechanic.

Yes I know monstrosity is slow but it’s still a darn good mechanic. Still it would make for a funny draft.

  3. Nice, another format solved by LRR?

Next fornight, for Halloween, I hope to see LRR’s monster draft . . . where you guys just take all the monstrous creatures and ramp cards you can pick up, and try to go monstrous with all your creatures.

  4. I know I’ve heard this referred to as “Voltron”, both here and elsewhere, but personally I prefer to it as “Asteroids”… even if they manage to kill your giant guy, it just splits into a bunch of small guys they have to worry about…

  5. Who knew? You guys can make a good deck. I have lost to that exact many time versus blue – One wavecrasher with a bestow creature or other enchantment cast on him or her every single time. Usually the first pump to the toughness take sit out of range of most removal. And then every enchantment cast thereafter on it taps one of yours down for blocking and attacks next turn. Even when you finally get to untap one and cast one, you usually are then just chumping to survive.

  6. Thank you so much for the draft! Great bestow deck and it was a lot of fun to watch y’all play it!

  7. I think this is the first draft I’ve ever seen you guys do where through 4 picks I was like “hey, this deck looks pretty good so far”

  8. There are two problem with the Psychic Intrusion and they are the same problem they are having with Daxos of Meletis, it treats the spell as though it was your opponents spell that you are paying to cast, and then when it triggers it goes to you, and bestow isnt considered a cost for some reason, only the CMC is a “cost” in their programing.

Cards that “target opponents creature” like time to feed and Chained to the Rocks target your creature it has you as “the opponent” then you get to select a creature of yours, where your counts as your for some reason.

  9. OK, it’s pretty clear I think that you guys have stopped doing comedy drafts and just started coming up with things that are ridiculously broken. I want to try to draft a deck as awesome as this one sometime soon. Although, I want to do that while also taking the money cards that you passed…

  10. I don’t know Clypheous, I think we’re just trying to move away from “We can only pick X cards, oh look we built a pile of crap”
Although last week we did pick based on fashion…

Basically, we’re trying to achieve our own win conditions, which is hopefully still funny.

  11. I guess I came off wrong, I didn’t mean you weren’t funny, I actually find it funnier when you’re winning, I just meant you are in fact going away from the pile of crap method to an actual workable theme that has at least a good chance of winning. You’re also playing better all the time too which certainly helps. I also think Theros is a great set for theme drafts, rare drafts, etc. as there are more playable cards you’re less likely to find yourself short on playables just because you didn’t 100% focus on always drafting the best card.

I apologize if I sounded harsh, wasn’t my intent, just was noting that your drafts have gone from piles of crap made into a deck to actual good decks played pretty well. They are still hilarious and I think that the deck quality has allowed you to go from comedy in drafting to playing your decks in a hilarious way, making the actual play videos just as funny as the draft.

Keep up the good work! (And I’m apologizing on the Internet? I must be new here)

  12. Fun matches as usual. Just a quick correction, in M2G2 giving prot blue wouldn’t have won you the game that turn since the emissary would have fallen off.

  13. I needed to comopse you one very small remark to be able to say thanks a lot again on the wonderful tricks you’ve featured in this case. It has been really strangely open-handed of people like you to make unhampered just what numerous people would’ve supplied as an electronic book to get some dough for themselves, most importantly considering the fact that you might well have done it if you wanted. These inspiring ideas also acted to become a great way to understand that some people have similar fervor similar to my very own to learn a whole lot more with regard to this issue. I am sure there are lots of more enjoyable periods in the future for folks who discover your blog.
