  1. Phyrexian rebirth – white ? This should be a black card… its a horror.. come on.. horrors are black…

Flensermite… really, flensermite? sounds like the retarded offspring of venser and a pestermite

The first blue/black pw is underwhelming :(

Thrun’s cool.. Troll ascetic 2.0.. glad he’s legendary though or he would be way too powerful

    Zenith cycle looks cool.

  2. Don’t forget that the ability that generates 5/5 creatures is not limited “until end of turn” so he can protect himself very well from attacks which is a strong argument that he will be better then many think.

  3. @Martin

    1) Phrexian rebirth field clears, therefore it’s white.

    2) gotta agree with you on that

    3) Ha HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH haha ha. Wait, are you serious? the +1 and -4 are kind of crappy, but the -1… another 5/5 every turn is scary.

    4&5) gotta agree with you

  4. Saying Tezz protects himself is like saying, if I played a creature the turn before I cast Koth he protects himself.

Tezz requires other cards to protect himself there for he does not protect himself.

Elspeth did/does – created blockers from nothing

Tezz is ok, but hardly amazing. He’s like a 1 mana cheaper version of Sarkhan the Mad – for serious.

  5. How can a +1 (better than draw a card ability) ever be bad?
Don’t forget, it effectively combos with jace’s brainstorm ability, just like how other shuffle effects.
Also, if you manage the long game, you can sort of manipulate your draws (ok this wont happen very often). It gives artifact decks reach. Best in some sort of UB artifact aggro-control deck. (which may or may not be viable)

  6. Treasure Mage is so sick. Mono blue architect might very well be not only block constructed playable, but standard too.

  7. Looking forward to see what other color fixing there will be to make block constructed decks more viable outside the 5 allied combination in SoM. Here’s to hoping they include at least the 5 enemy duals in as well.

  8. Magic misses you too Travis !

Which zenith will be the most played ? I place my bet on the green one.

  9. the Green Zenith is just.. WOW … Valakut can play 1 Avenger 1 Oracle ect and this still counts as Battlement and Titan #5-8

  10. No offence, but this isn’t daily updating, it’s been a whole week now… i must seek my information elsewhere now and that is making me tired :P

  11. @knx: Yeah you’re right. The site is dying.
First no Travis, then close to no videos and now not even daily updates on the MBS spoiler (a.k.a. copy&paste of MTGS).
What’s going on, where is Standard Spike? :(

  12. Hello guys,

I can ensure you that we will soon enough be on “steam”. We are currently working on a big project that eats most of our resources but you will find the spoilers up to date. Please note that we only spoil cards that have a full card image released. It’s a visual spoiler after all. ShipIt will be back soon.
    Stay tuned.

  13. Just off hand the cards I want to have 4 of are the creeping corrosion, green sun zenith, phyrexian hydra looks str8 broken to me on a cost to cast infect spell basis, thrun will be a nice sideboard for control matches versus my valukut, ill oboly add zenith to my vally ramp, might even work with uni green eldrazi to bring in some other situtanal casting options for some of the less popular 7-9 cost eldrazi critters. Darksteel plate looks well costed to me, knowledge pool/mirrorworks look possibly playable or formed into some addon to some archetype as yet undetermined, disapointed in the lands, they seem to have alot of ways to sweep weenie critters, so red and white/arti decks look to be hurt by this interation of standard meta, probably is enough decent infect options for a black green infect deck to compete to some degree in standard, like galvanath, and red sun zenith (targeted exile for red ftw), red green are my faves in general so ill leave my opinions primarily to those cheers

  14. @andrewdmarino on MTGO: at least try to punctuate or put some breaks? thats just not readable.

  15. Would like to know what you think will be the moneycards ? Normally i’m just plain wrong about those… for this set i’d say green zenith and consecrated sphinx….

  16. Thanks for you insight, i didn’t consider Thrun because it’s legendary so on it’s own it won’t make that much of a difference i feel (and isn’t immune to having to sac a creature to malakir or so); i never would have named Blightsteel because of the 12 mana cost, but perhaps in an eldrazitype deck… allthough would really surprise me to see that one go above 5 tic after one month. Tezzeret will be worth something because it’s a pw but in my opinion not very playable (so low demand for it) in standard. I really like Glissa; also inkmoth will get some value i think (it’s allready in lots of standard decks).
I fear consecrated sphinx won’t be as high valued as i think, but when i first saw it i thought it might replace frost titan in some decks… stupid thoughts perhaps

  17. Thrun is a Jace answer. Gatekeeper is not terribly relevant.

Tezz is the most powerful walker since Jace 2.0.

Inkmoth Nexus will see enormous play across several formats.

Blightsteel Colossus is playable off Tinker and Shape Anew, not hardcast.
