M:tG Cribbs #24: Mono-Black Devotion in Standard

  1. A Planeswalker would help out that match up a lot. I know some list play four Temples and four Watery Grave, then play main deck Far/Away and Ashiok out of the board. That might be a good plan.

  2. Blood scrivener could be a good one too probably not though.
If they waste removal on it your demon lives then, if not you draw cards once you pitch them all to pack rat

  3. I know some people have been playing the blue-splash version for Far // Away.

Personally, I’m a bigger fan of a white-splash brew that I’ve been trying. I splash for Blood Baron in the main . . . as well as Sin Collector in the sideboard.

  4. not to be that guy, but a lot of your plays were just straight bad.

Standard is different now and windmill slaming your best card best off your opponents last turn isnt how its played anymore.

A lot of times you needed to pick a line before you did any action. Like the play with mutavault where you did not block and the 2 life cost you the game.
