M:tG Cribbs: STD 2-Man Matches with GW Blink

  1. I think this deck looks really cool and you should maybe take out Geist and put in another Closet. And maybe take out 2 Forest and put in 2 Plains.

  2. Seems like getting two accelerators before turn 3 is kinda sick, what about Farseek?

Hard to find space though I guess. Might be better than Visionary?

  3. I actually did switch 2 Forests for 2 Plains. I did take out the Geist Honored Monk but I replaced it with another Elvish Visionary but that might be become another Closet or a Centaur Healer. I’ve also been thinking about adding Farseeks to make sure we get white and to 5 mana.

  4. I have been thinking about Farseeks because I need to get to the five drops as soon as possible. And I do think adding more caverns would be good. I plan on doing more videos with this deck because I think it has a lot of potential.

  5. Would love to see some improvements and more videos. This deck looks good to me. May also want to consider either Trostani or Rhox in the board too. I also like the idea of more closets, this deck really capitalizes on blinking things.

  6. Hey Ryan,

I just found your standard videos a few days ago and have enjoyed them quite a bit. I’d been playing a selesnya aggro/mid build where I would use a 15 card transformative side board to go into land destruction mode against anything slower (3 closets, 4 acidic slime, 4 mwonvuli beast tracker, 4 cloudshift). I still don’t know about consistency in the long term – but when it works it is awesome. Your video inspired to see what I can do with a blink focused main deck. I think my main suggestion is trying to incorporate a couple mwonvuli beast trackers main deck – since they can tutor either acidic slime or armada wurm on top of your library. It also lets you side and tutor for Sigarda (though it doesn’t fit the blink theme) in cases where Sigarda is really good. Maybe just run two of these and 2 slime and 2 Armada wurm main. That is what I’m trying for now. Also you can blink the beast tracker to put another Sigarda, Armada wurm, or acidic slime on top of the deck. Other than that – I think I would cut a couple arbor elves and add a couple farseeks. Maybe cut one healer as well and add a third farseek. One of the cases I have the toughest time with is when all my early mana dorks get pillar of flame’d and I think moving to 9 total with three farseeks is at least a little bit better. I’d love to see more with this deck and what you end up thinking is optimal.

  7. Thanks for the input everyone. I will try out the trackers and see how they work. I also really like the idea of Farseek over Arbor elf because sometimes arbor won’t do what you need it to do.
