PlanetWalls Plays Momir Constructed

Momir Basic by PlanetWalls

  1. I liked watching this it was fun and I know want to play that format it is so random i love it!!

  2. Yes it’s funny when you’re the one getting the bombs… seeing your sevendrop disappear into thin air just plain suckx !!
Or, and this happened to me once, i got a sevendrop that said ‘if you didn’t cast this from your hand, you lose the game’ !!!!!!!

  3. In terms of other content, would love to see people draft the unusual blocks when they are on mtgo. Is always cool seeing the old sets with wacky interactions,

  4. Thanks I very much enjoyed watching.
If you are so inclined I wouldn’t mind seeing another few Momir games from time to time.
    Cheers

  5. This was pretty hilarious and entertaining. I can only second enderfall’s comment regarding Dark Confidant; I thought “wow” the second best two drop in Momir Magic. That should be game. What are the odds your opponent is able to get rid of him with a three drop?….ups.”

If you are asking yourself what the best possible two drop is the answer is, Azorius Guildmage I believe, and not for the tapping ability ;-) Happy for someone to prove me wrong though….

  6. I loved watching this, I’d love to see more.

In terms of other content I’d like to see, I guess personally I like seeing old old sets I’m not familiar with being drafted, that’s always very entertaining. But that’s not something that’s really doable very often.

Otherwise maybe some constructed based around a really fun (but not necessarily reliable) archetype or theme?

  7. Dark Confidant is not the best 2drop in Momir. Not even close. Any manaproducer is better actually.

  8. @kezzerdrix:
After thinking about it I guess I have to agree that Dark Confidant is not as valuable in Momir as it first appears, due to the fact that you cannot really utilize the card advantage very well. While it helps you to ramp up to astronomical creature casting costs the effect is probably not that amazing compared to the early ramp mana critters give you.
Can you prove my second statement “Azorius Guildmage” is the best Momir two drop wrong as well? I was thinking for a while but couldn’t come up with a better creature to have.

  9. The ocational momir is entertaining, I dont realy enjoy the old formats very much, Id prefere some whacky constructed format such as casual prismatic more. Momir get old fairly quickly though so if you want to make casual content you probably have to do a bit of everything.

As for value drops the guildmage is fairly dreaded but not much fun. I would rather get a Oracle of muldaya. It end games in a similar fashion but you get to play 12-15s for kicks rather than just pressing the I win button.

  10. I just Googled “momir analysis” to see if anyone has done the statistics for Momir with the Gatecrash update online, and the following Blog was at the top of Google’s results: http://momirbasic.blogspot.com/

I scrolled down a page and clicked on an image, pleased to find out that someone recorded a brilliant loss of mine from 2011.

  11. volumn was super dupa low for all the videos and even with headset volumn turned up to maximum it was still not normal volumn levels

  12. Dark Confidant 2 drop – not really that exciting.
Almost any of the guildmages are great to see – I can’t wait to play with an Selesnya Guildmage in Momir – you are trading future drops at certain point (I would probably continue to skip the odd drops), but once you get a flyer or a bomb, populate them out 2 a turn rather than another 8 drop is the best.
The other day I got a blue “tap to make another creature attack or block” lady at drop 2 – she was definitely in MVP that game because I controlled every combat from thereon!
