  1. Grats on the win, nice commentary and I enjoyed the brisk pace.

Odd that the one opponent conceded twice when he still had a shot, though.

  2. Thanks for following my mediocre exploits! I managed to run the deck to a 3-1 in DE after this one. Not much luck in 8-mans, though. I am still trying to finalize my sideboard. (The deck list for this event is HERE).

At one point I say I “Lost Alara” and mean Sphinx of Lost Truths. The sphinx seemed like a nice reload versus Control. You basically play the planeswalker/man-land game (with more mana and better threats) vs UW and UWR, so drawing cards is nice as the games can last a while. I still haven’t played versus Naya or the Mirror, so Linvala, Keeper of Silence has only came in to fly over Wall of Omens. I really want Day of Judgment to be good… but we will see! In any case, this deck is insanely fun (feels like Dark Depths).

On the subject of conceding- I have gotten concessions when I was still nervous about losing multiple times. My mindset is don’t concede, because maybe your opponent will mess up! I am guessing that my round 1 oppo just didn’t have anything in his hand or he was dual-eventing.

  3. Nice vids, just stumbled across this site a few days ago and have been loving the content. Played a PTQ with a similar list over the weekend to a thrilling 1-2 drop finish, but the deck is undeniably powerful.

Keep it up and well done.

  4. “like playing double Shizo” — No, playing double Shizo is like playing 3 Steppes. You should do that, by the way.
