  1. #3 Please, Dredge. I am playing a paper version, need to learn to play it better I think. LED-less, if you can.

  2. Round 1 game 1! Couldn’t you have shuffled your library with KotR to give yourself another shot at hitting a Deed right at the end?

  3. More to the point, shuffling with Kotr gives you 3 more chances at flipping a zero cost or land. You missed that one repeatedly ;).

  4. I have added a poll to the article so please vote again if you have posted in the comment section. This will make it easier to keep track. Thanks!

  5. Round 1 Game 1 you could have played Mox Diamond without discarding a land and making the Goyf 3/4 so that you could have attacked that turn. You could have also shuffled your library with your Knight of the Reliquary to Top 3 fresh cards and hopefully not die.

  6. Great to see a new forcing the will! really enjoyed as always.
voted for Dredge (and also want to cast the anti vote for ANT :D)

  7. Thanks for setting up a poll Marin I appreciate it. Keep those votes coming in guys. You have until Wednesday night so get all your buddies to get their votes in as well.

When I watched my replays the first thing I noticed was that I missed the KOTR interaction with Bob and the top. If you watched the Deck Tech you will notice I use that specific example of my game 1 so that you won’t make the same mistake that I did.

@ Lunco: Pitching the Mox didn’t even come to my mind when I was playing. That’s a great point! I almost never pitch my Mox Diamonds, but now that you pointed that out I will remember that when I am playing with Mox Diamonds again.

    Thanks for all the repsonses

  8. Yo. awesome shout out for Soap Opera. now to finish watching the event you played. Ha Ha

  9. I like subtle plays such as tapping Karakas to cast one of two StPs. That’s manly. I would make that play 9/10!

  10. @ CSeraph & ChrisKool: Haha I have to say one of my better plays ;) I did that because I was just that confidant in the decks and my ability to win. Honestly I can’t think of any reason as to why I did this besides not paying attention, but I would never never do that :P

@ whiffy: Gotta support Classic somehow. Took us long enough to get more people in the format.

  11. Love this series. Excellent coverage of the meta and love the deck breakdown. My only complaint is that I wish you wrote these so much more often (probably unrealistic). Very high quality article.

  12. @ StewardUlk : The reason for not adding Bog was a personal choice. I had trouble with the manabase, and after playing the deck for some time I found that I wasn’t able to use the Kotr to fetch the bog until turn 3-4 if I was lucky enough to have one in my opening hand. By this time Dredge will usually either win or be behind so I decided not to add a singleton copy even though it can be very useful. I try to avoid come into play tapped cards as much as possible especially land cards in Legacy. My gameplan for dredge is Jailers and a bunch of cards in my sideboard, but luckily for me I didn’t need to worry about Dredge. Once again this is a personal choice, and by all means do what you are comfortable with. I encourage all players to tweak their decks to fit the current meta, and make it so that you are comfortable with both the maindeck and sideboard. So basically the reason I didn’t add Bog was that I simply didn’t feel it was necessary to add it to the deck, but I did think about adding a single copy multiple times.

@ gamemaster32: I’m glad you enjoy my series so much! I will do my best to deliver as much content as I can, but sadly I am not able to do the 2 articles a month like I used to be especially since I added the you choose the deck portion of the article. This makes it extremely hard since my articles don’t usually go up right away which gives me less time to build the deck to my liking, get some practice, and enter an event. Just rest assured I have plenty of articles to go.

@ CSeraph: True Kira is only really played in Merfolk and the occasional Bant deck, but that is no excuse for me missing the interaction with Karakas. I appreciate others pointing out my mistakes since it makes me much less likely to repeat those same mistakes.

Voting will close in 24 1/2 hours from now so make sure to get those votes in if you havn’t yet! Thanks again to everyone who posted and voted.

  13. Awesome promo foil Vindicate /deed / Wasteland !! i enjoyed a lot as always!! but in that game 1 round 1…omg what a missplay, but it helps a lot to learn about it!!
Why d u prefer Jailer instead of Gerrard’s Verdict in main deck?l its just for that DE which u expected some dredges?

    GREAT JOB!!

    TURBO ELDRAZI

  14. @ LOIS: Thanks those promos took some time to get, and yes g1r1 was awful at the end I’m pretty positive I had a good chance of winning that one otherwise. I chose Jailer exactly for that reason. I was playtesting the deck before I entered the Daily Event and I started off 2 different games with me playing first and thinking to myself this is an unstoppable hand having a land, mox diamond, and gerrard’s verdict. I said to myself I am definitely going to win this one, and both time I cast gerrard’s verdict to find my opponent was playing dredge. At least in a tourney after R1 you can at least know what your opponent is playing beforehand, but after seeing Dredge so much in the practice room I expected to run into it. Lucky for me I didn’t need to face it in the Daily Event.

  15. Just a note, it’s just one Pernicious Deed. It’s not plural unless you’re talking about multiples of the card. Also, when you’re saying “pithing needle”, pretend it’s “pissing needle” but you have a lisp. I’m not trying to be a dick, just trying to help.
