Hot or Not? A Price Prediction Contest — Final Round

Heya everyone!

It is time to wrap up our contest with the last task for all of you. I hope you made sure to voice yourself in part I, II, and III?! We are closing the voting on May 7th!
If so then you can relax and answer the following final question:

Which three “Rise of the Eldrazi” uncommons will be the most expensive ones two weeks after Online release?

Link to visual spoiler of all uncommons

As with all other questions every right answer will give you 1 point. We will total the points for all participants and determine the winner when 2 weeks since release have passed.

The winner will be announced on the site and walks away with a shinny “Umezawa’s Jitte”!

Good luck to everyone!

  1. 1) Wall of Omens
    2) Oust
    3) Artisan of Kozilek

I’m probably wrong about that eldrazi pick, but I just wanted to pick a casual card as a dark horse.

  2. Wall of Omens
    Oust
    Inquisition of Kozilek

with Treespeaker and Domestication right behind those.

  3. 1- Wall of Omens
    2- Forked Bolt
    3- Inquisition of Kozilek

Hate to sound like the rest, but those are all stupidly good uncommons.

  4. Wall of Omens
    Inquisition of Kozilek
    Joraga Treespeaker

Thanks for the contest and good luck everyone!

  5. Wall of Omens – Wall of Blossoms is sweet and is a pretty big setback for jund’s non-putrid leech dudes. That and the fact that it neatly slots into UW make this a sold pick.

Joraga Treespeaker – it’s a mana elf that kicks to to 5 mana on turn 3. that’s not bad.

Artisan of Kozilek – Almost certainly the best eldrazi in limited; If any of the eldrazi are destined to be cast in constructed, this guy gives Kozilek himself some real competition. 10/9 + BSA anyone? Regardless, he is likely a casual favorite at the very least.

Honorable mentions go to domestication and Inquisition of Kozilek, which seems good, until you realize that most of the things you want them to discard cost more than 3 mana… (Jace, day of judgment, baneslayer, gideon, bloodbraid, ranger of eos, open the vaults, cruel ultimatum… the list goes on…)

  6. 1) Wall of Omens
    2) Joraga Treespeaker
    3) Inquisition of Kozilek

Can anyone really argue with Wall of Omens? Heavy Casual and Competitive appeal will drive a high price. Treespeaker’s casual appeal as a mana elf and its possible competitive applications will ensure value. Inquisition of Kozilek has many options, particularly in formats other than Standard will continue to drive interest in the possibilities. Smother has continued to be a highly successful tournament card despite its limitations. Inquisition shares many of the same advantages and limitations and should not be discounted.

  7. 1 Wall of Omens
    2 Oust
    3 Joraga Treespeaker

Oust is nuts, simply nuts. One of the most amazing tempo cards printed this decade. Wall of Omens is more straightforward but is a must have 4 of for the current best deck in standard. Everyone want to try Eldrazi Green Redux. I’m not a believer, but I think demand will keep the price on the treespeaker up for a couple of weeks.

Inquisition of Kozilek will be good, and gets amazing in older formats. But discard card that doesn’t hit bloodbraid or ranger probably is a sideboard card in standard.

  8. 1.Wall of Omens

    2.Oust

    3.Inquisition of Kozilek

After play testing against WoO in RL it really is a staple for any sort of control deck.

Oust seems like it will be used as a good way to stall your opponent without giving them a land. sadly it is a sorcery but some probably wont care after path is gone.

The inquisition is pretty good all around i play over duress because I find that it works a little more of the time against most aggro decks.
