  1. It’s almost always correct to play in RGD. Karoos are a discincentive to being on the draw because you lose card value from them (in discarding to hand limit) on the second turn.

This potential loss negates the negligible advantage you get from the extra card you would have on the draw, which is rarely better than being on the play in the first place.

  2. M2 G2 in the draft:

Directly after he casts Firemane Angel you made 2 mistakes in a row.

You have Ogre Savant in hand and you absolutely want to cast it on that turn (if you don’t hit a more permanent solution for Angel) since even taking one hit from it kills you right away with Ickspitter and Guildmage in play as happend in the video.

Once you consider that, the correct play is Oracle since if you don’t hit two land in the Research you’re giving up value and every card might matter if he decides to trade guys when you attack. If you hit neither land nor Cackling Flames, you’re dead right away because you don’t have enough mana left to Then just cast Savant and attack with all your guys except the 1/3. He is rather low already so he should block at least one thus also shortening his clock.

After you play Research, you still have the option to play the Savant and don’t do it… I just don’t get why (if you explained it, I’m sorry, but I had to watch without tone). If you do this and swing in, you prevent him from using his Guildmage or casting any other spell on the next turn and you get to see two additional cards to deal with Angel. The way you played it, you just lost despite drawing a solution and I really wonder why you wouldn’t have seen that before casting the Squirter.

  3. Hey Chris,

RGD is one of my favourite draft blocks. R2G2 playing savant targeting the angel after the research would leave you in a very good spot.

Anyways, love watching your videos. Keep up great work!!

  4. Modern 2-Man Queue, Match 1 game 2

Why the heck didn’t you just counter the first seething song?

  5. He spell snare can’t hit 3 mana rituals. I feel he should have saved the negate for later, and not cast the sword. He would have had lots of protection then, but instead lost to only having one narrow counter up. I find storm can’t go off through 2 counters.
