  1. Ravnica is a great format because there’s a new layer to unravel each draft. The removal is versatile and fairly plentiful and the creatures are some of the most interesting in magic. Picking your path: A Ravnica Draft Primer is a good way to get started. In the end, you can be as many colors as you like with the right fixing, but knowing the guilds definitely helps to steady the course. Also, an average flyer is a 2/2 and an average green ground pounder is a 4/4. Oh, and guildmages are just the nuts. Again thank you.

  2. So,,, there were some mistakes early on, primarily that you missed the Searchlight and the Mark of Eviction. Searchlight fixes you for any type of mana, so it’s like a super signet, and its a valid first pick. Mark of Eviction is kind of like Silent Departure, but you get to use it every turn for only 1 mana, and it’s one of the best uncommons in the set. You first pick that over 90% of the rares. And someone passed it to you like 6th. Obviously the Angel is nutty. This format has so much to pay attention to during the games, that it’s not really surprising that you made some mistakes in the last match. I still can’t believe you beat Glare of the Subdual in the first match. That thing is sick, sick, sick… but your opponent just had no clue what he was doing. So I guess that is nice.

  3. Lol, when you read plumes of peace and act like its bad it made me cringe. That said, fun draft, and it is probably much much better then I did my first rav draft, its a pretty scary set, you just take fixing and play 4-5 color.

  4. You call spectral searchligt weird because it can give mana to another player; i remember when i first started playing mtgo ravnica was the set to draft/league (yep) and i lost a considerate number of games to spectral searchligt… because of a little feature called manaburn. Unfortunately with changing the rules the whole manaburn concept disappeared and made these cards look weird to awful now.
After doing 3 drafts myself and seeing yours i start gettint the grip of the sets back, but at first draft they seemed as unknown to me as they did to you; allthough i must say i found it weird to hear you never drafted it before (not so lang ago AND you can draft it every 4 months or so). Are you really that new to the game ?

  5. Forgot funny story off my first ravdraft last week : I play War’s Toll first match first game, oponent taps land, ability goes on stack… and he concedes !
Unlucky for me second oponent wasn’t that impressed and went on tapping all of his lands when ability was on the stack… so he still had access to all of his land, just not in my turn.

  6. Hey Marshall, you kept trying to understand the Ignorant Bliss card, that was part of the plan for the Rakdos Guild, that have the Hellbent mechanic. Some exemples of use are Demon’s Jester and Demonfire.

  7. Is it RGD draft that is actually goofy, or is it just you, and the way you tumble through it?

  8. Youve got to be baked p3p1! It would account for alot silly mistakes as well as the psychic drafting ability.

  9. Mispicks and misevaluations are normal when drafting a fresh set (actually you drafted pretty amazingly for a first time, even getting the colour selection right so all three packs were good to you), but ouch, where is nuts and bolts spike? Did he take the draft off? I hope you take some painkillers before you watch your replays! :)

  10. It’s always such a blast watching you draft this format Marsh! Rav block was the best draft block to date! Just an observation, Match 1 Game 1 when you were killing the spider, you probably should have activated the Stormscale Anarch before casting the Steamcore Weird in case you randomly discarded the Vortex. That would have dealt enough damage to kill the spider without having to target it with the Weird as well, leaving you able to target something else with it. <3 LR!

  11. Oh man… If I were in your seat I wouldve had the most insane RUG deck with 2 scatter the seeds… Mostly because I take that card way too highly. But this is certainly some great vids from my favorite content provider on this site. Keep up the awesome work!

  12. Nice video!

What I personally found funny is how stumbled on the Signets. It showed that you really haven’t been playing during that time. I remember when that set came out I needed to get used to that whole Signet tapping thing. Not that it was particularly difficult, but it just took time to get used to it so it didn’t take time. I guess cutting down match time to 25 really matters with this block.

You should really, for entertainment value, watch LSV’s latest Rav Block draft. Really, just do it :-)

  13. Am I the only one saying over and over in game 1 that he needs another R mana if he wants to Wierd and Stormscale on the same turn long before Marshall noticed? lol.

  14. No SimUser, it was super obvious. You were the only person who wasted time writing about it.
