  1. Why wouldn’t you run the Academy? With 6ish artifacts and palincron you can go infinite prior to an upheval right?

  2. Too bad you missed/not wanna go with Gifts-Rites combo (searching with gifts your library only for rites + spicy dude and fail to search other two cards. Both rites and the creature goes to your graveyard and gues what? when you untap…)

  3. Hey marshall thank you for the video’s again.
Talking about different picks, I would have picked the reveillark over the wornstone. Together with the sower you pass, the cloudskate + sculler, the shadowmage it gives proper value (also flies over moat). Alot of value creatures in esper have 2 power, something to consider next time.

Also I can imagine that if you never played with tolarian academy, you are hesitant to run it. The thing is though the card is pretty bonkers, you ran 7 artifacts, which guarentees it almost always being an island. Now any more artifacts just makes it hit power mode, and is a superior tomb.

  4. You had one fun card in your deck in Tezzeret and then you cut it… man you build decks like my grandmother !
All talk about wanting to be the guy that does great stuff but in the end it’s always the same same same… upheavel

  5. Why in match 2 didn’t you balance after he flamed the mage?

Thanks for the vids they are always interesting and improve my drafting immeasurably.

  6. You know, the way you sideboarded for M3G3 (minus having Duress instead of Thoughtsieze) is probably how I would’ve built the maindeck if I drafted the same cards.

  7. yeah gotta agree with most of the above. No love for Gifts….even less love for Tezzeret…awwww. But sweet, sweet cubing Marshall. Thx/

  8. y’know, uphevel is just THAT sweet. It really trumps just about any archtype, and I think it’s kinda neat that Marshal has a cube niche he could get famous for drafting (kinda like the LSV mono red)

  9. I really don’t see the problem with your Cube-drafting.

Sure, it isn’t a new archetype every time. But with cube being so crazy and full of stuff, you managed to find 2 working and winning decks now. Look at the opponents drafting different and losing with it. Cube ist a chance but it can also be a failure, if not played properly.

I do admire some of your choices, in places where I know I would have done something entirely different, even in game with the starting hand you had, but in the long run most of your thoughts were dead on right. Good work!

  10. You said, “He got a little to excited with his sword there”… bwahaha oye it’s late.

  11. Congrats on the new writing gig with Wizards! I’ll definitely be following you there, but I hope it won’t mean a reduction in your videos!

  12. I was incredibly surprised when you didn’t take rites when you have intuition and gifts. Then you got passed gristlebrand! Now thats a win condition.
