  1. Quite happy to see Standard videos back on this site :D. Thanks for recording and commentating these.

  2. Yeah, I was sick when I made the video. Sorry about that, I was doing my best effort to pause and blow my nose as much as possible. My next video should be better.

  3. Just wondering, when you do side in Cavern of Souls do you name Angel or Wizard? Which card/cards need to not get countered, that is?

  4. Cavern usually comes mostly for a 25th land against control and then names angel. It’s almost always more important to resolve restoration angel then augur or snapcaster.

  5. Enjoyed the vid, good to see standard content here again.

I’m not sure that I really like the deck though, it just seems so weak to anything which has a cavern and/or threats > X/2 (cavern naming vampire, play olivia and your only out is a sweeper? Cavern naming beast and your out is….??) and also doesn’t have geist or anything to be able to go under other sphinx’s revelation decks, which will own you in the long game.

  6. I’d have to agree with you there. I think the UWR version is a lot better at this moment. Adding burn spells solves a lot or problems that you mentioned. But I don’t like geist at all right now. It is only good in the mirror as creature decks have too many cheap creatures to block it and the control decks have Supreme Verdict. Depending on how the format evolves this deck could be better but as of right now I would put it on the shelf for a bit.

  7. (oops, that was me above)

I think there’s a UWR list around that runs both geist and hellkite? That one seems ok, it has both the ability to race and the necessary burn.

  8. There are but I was testing Gerry Thompson’s list which didn’t have either. This may be worse and play hellkite could be better. It is just hard to race when more dedicated aggro decks are usually faster and the control decks have Thragtusk and can go over the top of you very easily. Especially with the flash decks playing less counters than before.
