  1. What is it with these one damage burn spells now-a-days? They kill nothing of relevance (outside of standard), with the exception of Steel overseer. Sure, Retrace is cute, and Loam fuels it, but it still feels severely suspect to me. Lightning Bolt answers 90% of real threats, costs the same, and in a pinch can close out games.

@ Sam – Even though I wish I could tell you there is a decent replacement for goyf, there really isn’t. Being a broke player, i’ve considered Leatherback Baloth, Talara’s Battalion, Myr Susperion…none of them beat goyf, and for good reason (Wizards admitted Goyf was an accident). So until they screw up and print another bane to our wallets, we’re kinda screwed.

  2. I’d like to see more videos of this deck. You had essentially two real matches in this post, one against a pod deck that had no shot against you, and a very entertaining match against RDW. I would like to see your deck against a storm player that actually knew how to play, and maybe another 3-0 deck whose pilot would actually show up to the finals of a daily event.

Great work though, makes me wish i had enough tix for a playset of goyf’s. Life from the Loam is one of my favorite all time cards. Best part (besides your retrace cards) is that this deck is completely immune to the new format breaker (read: grafdigger’s cage).

  3. Hilarious that the storm player would’ve won with 1 more damage if he had swung that one turn with Delver.

  4. I’ve never actually seen this deck play before. granted, i’ve only been playing for about a year and a half now. this deck is absolutely awesome.

  5. Want to know the difference between an optimist and a pessimist?

An optimist believes we are living in the best of all possible worlds….

The pessimist is afraid the optimist is right.

  6. haha as soon as i saw this i knew it was bad news. i’ve been building this deck for weeks now and just I knew that faithless looting was the last piece that the deck needed. I’m pissed that everybody else has figured this out too lol

  7. Good gamin’ wit you the other day, shipit!

I got Goyf’s now, so I can stop playing the ‘bad version’…I still like worm harvest.
