  1. A lot of people in multiplayer online tap out so they can use the f8 function to expedite games. There’s really no sense in trying to do a conventional headfake in this format when you can be polite and move the madness along.

  2. Omg omg omg! This is such a Travis deck!
Also how do you expect me to ever wear a T-Shirt again?
Do you know how wet those vids made me?
I honestly think I’ll never get dry again.

  3. Love the deck, looks pretty fun.

Did you think of using Preator’s Counsel? Would give you another way of not having to discard your hand. Although it is certainly more difficult to cast it and a returned card in the same turn.

  4. I tried Counsel and found it to be one of those – oh god please don’t be in my opening hand/first five draws.cards. The deck has enough of those. It’s not even about handsize – moreso about throughput and Counsel is most def a waaaay late game bomb. I’d rather play Will, personally, but there is that wiggle room of which I confess. :)

  5. Love this deck— makes me want to see how gross this particular general is. As for particular cards, there are obviously a few pet cards one would be able to play here–

    Myojin of Nights Reach
All Suns Dawn (though Nolstalgic Dreams is much more powerful)
    Palinchron (mentioned in the vid)
    Manabond
    Necropotence
    Genesis Wave
    Eternal Dominion
    Insidious Dreams
    Intuition
Realms Uncharted(card seems like it could get silly)
    Scapeshift
    Amulet of Vigor (modern tech)

  6. I dont have the time to go into a lot of these, as there are a few good suggestions, but there are some misses here:

Genesis Wave – the deck has a ton of non perm spells – I tried it and it is waaay underwhelming.

Scapeshift – for what? I dont wanna thin my deck out of land, I wanna draw them and get triggers and have ADDITIONAL lands in play.

Palinchron – more of the same – you wanna get cheesy, do it, but this makes for a masturbatory game – I told you about this, Minker…

Eternal Dominion – why would I wanna play one spell a turn when I have enough mana to play most of my deck in one go?

    Necropotence – again, redundant, uncessary.

All Suns – good in a 5 c deck, not this.

Intuition – for? Not a lot of recursion in this so it’s just straight up card disadvantage moreover.

Amulet of Vigor – cute, but bad. Should I play Scarwood Treefolk.

Manabond is huuuuuge… well, maybe not. I forget that this isn’t banned, though it is not tech at all with Recycle and Profusion. I just will get locked out unless I have/play my general.

  7. Agreed that many of the cards listed wouldn’t specifically be better for your particular card choices. However, there are some that may be worthwhile enough to fit into a similar build. Like you said with Eternal Dominion, it may not even be enough with what you already have. I was thinking more of being able to interact with your lands instead of having to cast spells (while taking opp’s best spells out of their decks).

The card draw spells and tutors are redundant, but it’s good to see your thoughts on where a card belongs in context to your deck (as there could be a better place for a specific card, but it’s not played as often due to player preferences). For example, my Intuition piles usually begin with Genesis + E-Wit. Scapeshift may be good if you have more trigger-specific landfall cards like Rampaging Baloths, etc. It’s better with access to valakut though.

I guess with manabond I was thinking of more of a 43-lands type Commander deck that locks the game down quickly. Perhaps that’s a different general though.

  8. I threw this together, as I had everything but a few crap rares. This deck is a blast to play. I played the exact list and you are definitely right that preator’s counsel is likely just overkill.

I love that this deck feels like my azusa deck, but solves the major problem of Azusa in that if you just draw into all lands you have a commander that can dig you into more gas.
