  1. Awesome draft!

just one comment though – in the first match, after you brought back your Savage Twister with the Izzet dude, planning to use it with x=3 (just enough to leave your Bramble Elemental alive), you knew the Izzet dude (it it chronarch?) was going to die during your turn anyway. so when he bashed you with the 7/5 Streetbreaker Wurm, why not chump with the chronarch? seems like using it to gain 7 life is better than just trading it with another random 2/2 who is going to die to the twister anyway… other then this point you played tightly and well, and probably didn’t deserve even half the stuff you said about yourself ;)

  2. @Carrotus: His opponent taps the izzit chronarch with the tapper before attacking.

@PlanetWalls: In M1G2 when you played twister and played around overrule, you didn’t. I see four untapped mana from you and your opponent can overrule for five.

Still well played games so far. I haven’t seen all of it yet.

  3. Yay! Infinite Ravnica drafts! I just joined the clan and it’s great to see so much content. Thank you as always.

  4. hey havent started watching matches yet, just the draft. have you drafted ravnica before? were you extremely intoxicated? some of your reasoning/picks were just completely off. you passed some very good cards in your colors while taking much worse ones. also, at the end of pack 3 youre talking about how unexcited you are about ramping into no ways to win which isn’t true as you have several fatties. just kind of confused as you act like you know the cards but that youve never played the format.

  5. Wasn’t drunk. I probably had only drafted it 3 or 4 times maybe, and that would’ve been when it was in Standard. This isn’t to defend myself, but just to give you some perspective. The only reason I know what most of the cards do is just because I know a lot of Magic cards by memory.

You’re right with me undervaluing some of the cards I had as finishers; I didn’t realize how effective Streetbreaker Wurm was in the format until I started playing with it.

  6. Okay I don’t know the format and so could be mistaken, but after watching everyone and their mother release a Ravnica video; 17 lands one of which is a bounce, 2 signets and a Silhana Starfletcher seems like too much mana.

    Thanks for the free content!

    I dig your morose inflection.

  7. You actually did very well in the draft with a few notable exceptions. For instance, you looked at Ogre Savant and said, “Another 5 drop? No.” That card is the nuts. As you discovered, Street Breaker Wurm is actually very exciting. And yes, the lands are pretty much always better than the signets (4 bounces lands is the upper limit). Drift of Phantasms is a very good card as well.

This format is not very aggro since there are so many 2-for-1 (and greater). Trying to play a lot of one drops or bears will get you blown out in a hurry.

    Thanks for the content!

  8. Not sure that 17 lands + 3 accelerants was wrong. I had to mulligan a ton (three or four mulls for seven games if I recall). Sometimes when my deck is mediocre, I just want to make sure I don’t get manascrewed.

I actually think I knew that Ogre Savant was good. I recall commenting on Ogre Gatecrasher and saying ‘meh,’ but I could very well have mixed up Gatecrasher and Savant or I could just be misremembering what happened during the draft.

  9. Memory bias could be altering both of our recollections of your games. I remember a lot of your games ending with you drawing land after land after land, but I am likely forgetting all the times you mulliganed while you do the vice versa.
