Game 1, how do you not attack with Vampire Nighthawk? He has a blazing torch on the Tsunami, the vampire can’t block! That was pretty bad.

I think the phenomena that abilities on cards are missed is especially common when the card in question (this time the torch) has two abilities of which one is so commonly used (the direct damage) and the other rarely (cannot be blocked by Vampires). Players start to see the card as “the damage dealer” and do not see the less common application. In this case it did not matter but it was an overlook, yes.

Of course it matters, if the guy happened to have a second adventuring gear or happened to draft a fetchland he would have won the game when he shouldn’t.

You’re absolutely right, it did matter with almost any combination of cards. My train of thought obviously didn’t include that second ability from Blazing Torch, and I was pretty much set up on Letargy trap.

Ouch. Don’t include a “show Round 3″ button if you split that is just cruel!

That’s to keep the tension up! Hehe…

LoL, I’m gonna try to play them out but depending on the deck a split is usually what’s best for you. I didn’t feel this deck to be extremely strong. Sometimes after a little scouting you can play it out but it’s better to have 6 packs than 4 or hypothetical 8.=)

  8. Plejades says:

To RoninX – The actual reason why we do this is that we do not only show drafts that end in wins. Some people said they don’t like to know the outcome of a draft just by looking at the number of rounds displayed and we decided to always display 3 rounds to not give away the result to early.
Of course if you are curious you can always peek first at match 3….

That’s an embarrassing first pack. Mindbreak Trap is not mentionable. Nor is Guul Draz. You did not mention Shortcutter, which is probably the best card along with Gear. Larva is miles better than Cobra Trap.
